In recent times, Twitter has become a great way for travelers to connect, give advice, and provide links to travel blogs, deals, and more. You can even follow GoNOMAD editor Max Hartshorne at @Gonomad for his own tips and thoughts on travel.
An interesting competition I found on Lonely Planet was to sum up a city in one tweet, called “Twities competition.” This week people in the twitterverse are being asked to compare San Francisco and New York City.
An example of a winner from a previous competition (winners receive a Lonely Planet guidebook) is about Bangkok. @PaulBingley wrote: “Folded into a tuk-tuk, sucking hot air and exhaust, I whiz past standing buddhas and sleeping dogs and grin.”
On top of personal experience in a city, getting an overall feel for a place can happen just by reading an article on it. So while you’re trying to think up a tweet about San Francisco or New York City check out some GoNOMAD articles to help you out.
