Here are Ten Things We Simply Can’t Live Without
By Max Hartshorne
GoNOMAD Editor
At GoNOMAD’s head office in South Deerfield, MA, we receive many, many packages with all sorts of clothing, electronics, travel gadgets, packs, suitcases, and much more. So what do we really think of all of this stuff?
We decided to show off the items that made it to the very top, to become items we can’t live without.
Our favorite things. Here are a few of them.
Tushy: The Easy to Assemble, Inexpensive, Indispensable Bidet
Since traveling to Japan, I have been interested in joining the bidet generation and using water, instead of paper, to clean up after using the toilet. Voila!
Here’s the affordable way to change the game in the Number Two business. The Tushy comes with simple instructions and in ten minutes you’ve got it all hooked up and ready to use.
Cold water may not be as plush as the $1500 Toto toilets that offer warm water and hot air for drying–but you quickly get used to it. I’m sold on this device! TUSHY Classic Bidet Toilet Attachment – Modern Sleek Design – Fresh Clean Water Sprayer $79
Bluffworks Super Fine Ascender Chinos
We can’t say enough about the quality of these pants and shirts from Bluffworks. It just goes to show that you do indeed get what you pay for. The dress shirts, blazers, and chinos are made very well.
Bluffworks is an NYC-based company that puts the quality of its clothing at the forefront. It ain’t cheap, it’s just well made. How many pairs of pants that are fire engine red look this good?
The Ascender Chino takes comfort to the next level with a soft, wrinkle-resistant stretch fabric, and comes crafted with 10 carefully designed pockets. They come in green, red, grey, khaki and navy. I love these in the red color, different from anything else in my closet! Ascender Chinos $88
MacBook Pro 13″– The Most Expensive and the Best Laptop
Sure, these Macbooks cost a lot, in fact, they cost four times what a Dell costs. But I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love their Mac, and I don’t know anyone who has a Dell that lasts one-third as long and performs as well as these do.
The Mac is simply a better laptop, and it syncs with my iPhone and Mac desktop to make things very convenient. I have my office computer with me no matter where I travel.
New Apple MacBook Pro (13-inch, 8GB RAM, 512GB Storage) – Space Gray $1615
Tikki Tunes Audio Player with Cool Lights
Speakers. Do we get sent speakers? Oh yeah. But they are not all the same, some work well, and others just stop working. Some take too long to get the sound out. Of all the dozens of speakers we’ve been sent, the Tikki Tunes is our favorite. We play music every day and combining this with Spotify is the perfect musical combo we can think of.
I love that light that dances around when you turn it on, and it works every time. Love this little thing, I take it with me on trips.
Coalatree Evolution Hoodie, Made from Coffee Grounds and So Comfy
Something about this hoodie just adds up. It is the warmest article of clothing in my closet, it’s soft, it has a nice little hoodie pocket, and it’s made partly of coffee grounds. I am not sure how they do this out in Salt Lake City, but boy, I am impressed with this comfortable, warm hoodie.
Coalatree Evolution Hoodie $71
Casio Solar Powered Men’s Sport Watch: Sharp!
I love this heavy watch, it just feels perfect on my wrist. Some people no longer wear watches, but I enjoy always having a timepiece on my wrist. These models are the latest solar-powered chronographs from the high-performance Edifice lineup.
The sporty designs of these motorsports concept timepieces are created using carbon fiber, an essential material for racing car applications, for their faces.
A solar cell is used to generate electrical power from light, which is used to charge a battery. This eliminates any need to worry about the battery suddenly going dead, as long as the light is available. A full charge provides enough power for about five months of operation, even if there is no exposure to light.
Casio Men’s Edifice Quartz Watch with Stainless-Steel Strap, Silver, $136
Ipad Seventh Generation for Movies and Relaxing
Unclaimed Baggage Center, and boy was it a great deal. Through a series of bizarre and unfortunate incidents my last one was burned beyond recognition, so I had been doing without.
I had begun getting used to using an iPad after I bought one down in Scottsboro, Alabama at the famousOn airplanes, and in airports, having an iPad to watch movies or check email is very much better than not having one. Voila, this is the newest model, and it’s a doozy. It comes with the headphone jack that Apple eliminated on the iPhone, so I can play music using a good old RCA cord.
New Apple iPad (10.2-Inch, Wi-Fi, 32GB) – Space Gray (Latest Model) $229
Brooks Ghost 10 Running Shoes–they Look Nice Enough to Wear on a Date
I walk a lot, it’s my exercise and my time to listen to the many podcasts I truly enjoy. But my girlfriend warned me, ‘you can’t wear the same running shoes for more than a few years–they wear out!’
Yes, they do, and I must put in a plug for these Brooks Ghost running shoes, they really look great and they last longer than other runners I’ve bought. They look like regular shoes but have the spring I need to walk lots of miles. Yeah!
Brooks Mens Ghost 11 Running Shoe – $114
HOKA Running Shoes: Podiatrist Recommended!
When I have had problems with toes that don’t align properly, my podiatrist said that sneakers like these Hokas are a good way to remedy the pain. I am sold on HOKA running shoes and am proud to include them on my Favorites List of all time.
The Essential iPad Stand for Viewing and Meeting
I’ve probably bought five or six of these, and I’ve sent them to family members and friends. YOU NEED THIS if you like to watch movies on your iPad or talk with people on Facetime. The price and the way it works can’t be beaten.
