Definitely sounds like a great experience and adventure! We will be going to India end of the year and are looking for some spots to get up close with the country’s wild life. Sounds like a good place to go, thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Julian, I hope since posting this you’ve been to India (if so, please tell me about your travels!). I know every time I go I find myself planning my next trip whilst sitting in the departures lounge waiting for my flight back to England. In spite of the politics, it’s a beautiful country, with charming people. I so wish I could live there for half the year, every year.

Thank you for writing about this tiger reserve and bringing notice to India’s efforts towards the preservation of these magnificent beasts. It is a very uphill climb and not at all easy when the poaching market makes the rewards of killing tigers mean so much more than saving their lives.

Hi Deb – the tiger reserve is definitely not glamorous, in fact its a little to much of a rough and ready set up. It just needs a few tweaks to attract a greater Western audience (and a good PR company to do the marketing). The setting is magnificent, the staff knowledgeable and eager to help, and as you say, their’s is an uphill battle.
